President Bola Tinubu stated today in Ibadan, Oyo State, that the economy has positively transformed, attributing this change to the successful economic reforms implemented by his administration over the past two years.
He told Nigerians that they would soon reap the benefits of the reforms and expressed gratitude for their patience and support, according to Vanguard.
The president addressed the coronation of his associate and political partner, Imperial Majesty Oba (Sen) Abdul-Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
President Tinubu stated that the changes had succeeded due to the support, resilience, and sacrifices of Nigerians.
The president declared, “Today, I am privileged to announce the encouraging news that our economy has recovered, and there is now hope on the horizon.”
He praised the Olubadan of Ibadan for his services to Nigeria’s democracy and for successfully overcoming an unlawful impeachment as governor.
“Today is a momentous day for me, Kabiyesi. Wishing you a great birthday. Today is also a joyous occasion for you. As President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is a profound honor to observe this historical event transpire.
“All the endeavors we initiated together with high hopes, and the history we shared, are materializing.” I hope you will enjoy a long life and be revered as one of the exceptional leaders in history to inherit the throne of your ancestors.
The president stated, “I pray that God will bestow upon you additional years of joy, prosperity, and significance.”
Tinubu stated that the Olubadan of Ibadanland has influenced Nigeria’s political history and has consistently served as a beacon of hope through the trials of impeachment, persistence, and resilience as a former governor of the state.
He expressed gratitude to all former and current governors, as well as the traditional rulers, for their attendance during the coronation.
“It brings us immense joy and excitement.” I express my gratitude to all of you. He declared, “This is a homecoming for me.”
Governor Seyi Makinde conferred the staff of office and a certificate to the new Olubadan, a former state governor and senator.
Governor Makinde stated that Oba Ladoja’s coronation has resolved the conflicts among families over the rightful occupants of traditional thrones.
“It is a significant privilege to commemorate the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.” All citizens of the state, whether domestically and abroad, take pride in this historic occasion. We must preserve our tradition.
All difficulties related to the Ibadan traditional institution have been resolved and are now behind us. The governor stated, “This indicates that the process is now inviolable.”
The governor expressed gratitude to the president for dedicating time to acknowledge the traditional ruler and the community.
The governor stated, “There is no longer any animosity regarding the kingship in Ibadanland.”
Oba Ladoja stated that his rise to the throne epitomized the journey of life and the significance of destiny.
I embrace not only the accoutrements of office but also the associated obligations.
I wish to express my deep gratitude to my brother and friend, President Bola Tinubu, for honoring me and all the boys and girls of Ibadanland with his visit today.

The Olubadan expressed his commitment to honor the faith placed in him by the Olubadan Council members and kingmakers, while also expressing gratitude to the governor for endorsing his appointment.
The ceremony featured several dignitaries, including Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State; Biodun Oyebanji, Governor of Ekiti State; and Sen. Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State.
The previous Governors included Donald Duke of Cross River, Olagunsoye Oyinola of Osun State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, and Senator Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State.
President Tinubu was joined at the event by Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu and Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service Zacch Adedeji.
Present during the ceremony were the Sultan of Sokoto and co-chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammad Abubakar III, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.
