There is an impassioned plea from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother. As US District Judge Arun Subramanian prepares to sentence the Bad Boy Records founder in October, Janice Combs wrote a letter pleading for “mercy” from the judge, recognizing her son’s flaws.
According to the letter that was acquired by E! News, she said, “Unfortunately, my son has made some terrible mistakes in his life,” adding, “which I know he recognises.” Diddy faced two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying a potential 10-year prison sentence, but he was cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy in July. According to NBC News, prosecutors formally requested a prison term ranging from 51 to 63 months.
Janice, meanwhile, begged the judge to think about reducing her son’s sentence, citing the fact that her son overcame the loss of his father and uncle as children to become a “very successful” businessman and a “caring, loving” parent to his own children.
She went on to say, “I will never excuse any wrong doing by Sean.” So says she. I was a very strict parent when he was a kid. Please, from the depths of your compassion, let my son have the opportunity to share a family meal. God wills it so that he might bring up his offspring with the values of respect, education, and love for one another. Also mentioned by the 84-year-old was the 2018 loss of Kim Porter, the mother of four Diddy children: Quincy, 34, King, 27, and Jessie and D’lila, twins, who were 18 years old.
“I beg your honor to let him help them through the healing processes from the loss of their mother,” she said, “and the pain and sleepless nights they have had since Sean’s incarceration.”
Also, Janice made one last appeal by saying that her health “has deteriorated these last couple of years” as a result of her cardiac problems brought on by diabetes and two brain surgeries.
“I don’t know how much longer I will be around,” according to her, “but I would love to be able to see him and his children together again.”
