The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has found the body of a woman who has not yet been recognized in Jabi Lake in Abuja.
The Nation said that the Jabi Division got a call regarding the incident around 10:37 am on Saturday after someone at Jabi Lake Recreation called for help.
Sources say that detectives who went to the scene found a woman’s body floating on the lake. She is thought to be about 60 years old.
The results also showed that there were no signs of violence on the deceased and that a pair of green slippers were located on the shore of the lake.
The sources said that the body was in such bad shape that the Environmental Health Department had to be called to evacuate it to avoid health problems.
A high-ranking police source says that an inquiry is still going on to find out who the dead person was and what happened to her.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, did not answer any calls or texts about the event.
