The Dangote refinery will start giving away free fuel on Monday. Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo would be the first places to get it.
Anthony Chiejina, a spokesman for the Dangote Group, said that the plan will help millions of Nigerians by making petrol cheaper.
According to a Dangote spokeswoman, “We are starting the free fuel distribution program on Monday.” We will begin with Lagos and the South West, as well as the states of Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo. Starting on Monday, when the free distribution starts, the price will go down.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the refinery has lowered the price of gasoline to N841 per liter in Lagos and the South West, and N851 per liter in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta States. This price drop should increase economic activity and ease the financial burden on Nigerians.
The refinery has gotten more than 1,000 trucks to start the initiative, and when more vehicles come to Nigeria, more states will be able to take part.
The refinery has also started a large-scale rollout of trucks fueled by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to improve logistics and cut costs.
The business claimed, “Even though we just saw that CNG prices doubled last week, that won’t stop our 10,000 CNG truck roll-out this year.”
It was learned that this project is part of Dangote’s plan to make fuel distribution better and cheaper, which will ultimately help customers.
The free fuel distribution program was supposed to commence in August, but it was put off because of problems with logistics in China. Even if this setback happened, Dangote is still determined to reach its aim of making fuel affordable for Nigerians.
