We’ve asked Julius Berger to expedite work on the Long Bridge due to the insecurity on the Lagos/Ibadan Motorway – Official
In order to expedite work on the lengthy bridge on the Lagos/Ibadan Motorway, the Federal Ministry of Works has scheduled a meeting with Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, according to Mrs Olukorede Keisha, Controller of Works in Lagos.
According to her, the bridge’s expansion joints—which mostly face Lagos—have turned into death traps, as reported by The Nation.
“The rain has carried them away.” When drivers stop to replace their deflated tyres, they are vulnerable to attacks because tyre bursts have become commonplace, Mrs. Keisha continued.
She stated that the contractor had been pressured by the government to expedite the replacement of the joints.
In order to lessen drivers’ discomfort, Keisha said that covering the exposed joints would also be discussed with the contractor during the meeting.
