“His demise was unexpected” – Sad incident as an EFCC agent ends his own life in Abuja
ABUJA: In Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, an agent of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) committed suicide.
The deceased, a student in Course 5, was characterised as industrious, productive, and modest.
“The deceased was a diligent and efficient operative, known for his unassuming nature,” a source at the commission’s headquarters said. Everyone at the EFCC is shocked by his death.
The circumstances surrounding the suicide are currently being looked into, according to EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale.
“An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide,” Mr. Oyewale reiterated in response to questions regarding the incident.
He continued by saying that the Commission is looking into potential causes, such as mental health issues and family difficulties, that
may have contributed to the operative’s depression and tragic decision.
The EFCC has not released the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
