You got no achievement but free money from your father – Governor Abiodun replies Adebutu
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, yesterday, responded to attacks from the governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 election, Ladi Adebutu, saying he lacks mental capacity to assess his government.
Adebutu on Friday said he was ashamed that he hails from the same town with Abiodun, whose performance in the office he said showed a “diminished acumen.”
The PDP Chieftain accused Abiodun of rolling out drums to commission a few kilometres of roads, while his Oyo Counterpart, Seyi Makinde, inaugurated 76km of road on the same day, reports Daily Trust.
“I was in Oyo State, PDP governor commissioned a State’s road of about 77km. It was not the surfacing or existing road, he actually went and did urban and rural development at the same time.
“We understand governance, we are transparent and we are able to do well despite the fact that the resources in Oyo state are relatively, comparatively small to what we have in Ogun State.
“I feel ashamed, I covered my eyes, because Dapo is in the same place that I am and he shows his diminished acumen,” Adebutu said shortly after he revalidated his PDP membership in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state.
But Abiodun yesterday fired back in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade.
He described him as a “certified indolent and overfed brat.”
“Obviously, no right thinking individual with a sound mind could just wake up on the wrong side of his bed and start discrediting what the global community is applauding from all fronts. While we understand the limitations of Oladipupo Adebutu as a certified indolent and overfed brat, we never realized his mannerless tendency had grown to this level of nuisance.
“For crying out loud, what does a man that could not manage an ordinary small-scale business know about the government that superintends the affairs of over six million people in a geographical location of over 16000 square kilometres.
“Adebutu antecedents are majorly rooted in the life of recklessness and uncontrollable verbal diarrhoea, with no single achievement except the free money of his octogenarian father,” he said.
