Okuama Killings : A wanted Delta monarch surrenders to the Police

HRH, Clement Ikolo, the King of Ewu Kingdom in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, has turned himself in to the Delta State Police Command. He is one of the eight people the Defence Headquarters has declared wanted in connection with the killing of 17 military personnel in the Okuama community.

According to Channels TV, the monarch reportedly showed up at the state police command headquarters yesterday at precisely 6:41 p.m. to present himself to Police Commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda.

The monarch insisted on his innocence to journalists prior to turning himself in to the police.

His detention has been confirmed by the Delta State Police Command. This was verified to our correspondent by Bright Edafe, the state police spokesperson.

Earlier yesterday, the Defence Headquarters declared eight persons, including Ikolo wanted over their roles in the recent killing of 17 military personnel.

Those declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (Aka Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki; a traditional ruler, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukeywe; Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.
