Anthony Joshua gets second-round KO win over Ngannou
In the main event of the “Knockout Chaos” card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua defeated Cameroonian boxer Francis Ngannou via second-round knockout to win his fourth straight fight.
Following back-to-back wins in 2023 against Jermaine Franklin in April and Robert Helenius via seventh-round knockout in August, Joshua easily defeated Otto Wallin in the fifth round via technical knockout in December. Given Wallin’s southpaw stance, it was anticipated that Wallin would be a difficult opponent.
According to Saturday PUNCH, Joshua has now defeated fighters Wallin and Ngannou by knockout. These two fighters went the distance against Tyson Fury.
When Ngannou knocked down Fury during their fight last year, it startled supporters and gave them hope that he could pull a shocker against Joshua too.
Joshua, however, silenced the doubters, outboxing Ngannou throughout the two rounds and he made a statement like he promised with a knockout win inside just five minutes of their fight.
The Cameroonian-born boxer needed a doctor after he was knocked out and received oxygen at the corner of the ring before he stood back up.
In the post-match conference, Joshua expressed readiness to face the winner of Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk for a chance back at the world heavyweight titles.
