After prolong bullying, 23-year-old man machetes father to death
Saidi Musa Elemosho, 23, has been placed under custody for allegedly killing his father with a machet.
According to The Guardian, Saidi killed his father because the late man enjoyed cursing him for “no just reason.”
Chief Musa, the father, was the Elemosho of Share land in Kwara State’s Ifelodun Local Government.
Saidi was hauled before Magistrate Muhammad Dasuki on charges of involuntary killing.
He said that his father had cursed him arbitrarily in the past.
According to a police source, Saidi became enraged and used a cutlass to assault his late father.
According to the report, Saidi repeatedly struck his biological father till he passed away.
“He later fled to the mountains in Share forest after killing his father,”
The police prosecutor, Seargent Abdullah Sanni, informed the court that the matter is not bailable because it is culpable homicide and urged the court to consider the motion exparte attached to the first instance report (FIR).
He sought the order for the remand of the defendant in the Correctional centre.
Magistrate Dasuki, in his ruling, agreed with the prosecutor and ordered that Saidi be remanded while the matter is adjourned to January 9, 2024.
