Family panics as 13-year-old schoolgirl disappears in Lagos
A 13-year-old girl named Miracle Adereti was abducted in the Ikotun region of Lagos State by an unidentified gang. Her family has appealed to the police to find her.
The PUNCH reports that on Friday, December 1, Miracle was allegedly abducted on her way back from school.
Supposedly, her captors followed her to school first thing in the morning and waited until dismissal.
As Miracle and her sister were making their way home from school, the gang, who had parked a short distance away, snatched them.
Segun Adereti, the father, spoke about the incident, explaining that he dropped off his children at the bus stop before going to work each morning. That’s where the school bus normally picks them up.
He reported getting a frantic call in the middle of the day regarding his daughter’s kidnapping.
In an interview with reporters, Adereti explained, “We got up early to get the kids ready for school before dropping them off at the bus stop. They deceived us into thinking that I, as a politician, had the means to ensure my daughter’s release, when in fact we had no idea this group was planning something so evil.
According to Adereti, the event was reported at the closest police station on the same day. Adereti works as an air traffic communicator with the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
According to him, the kidnappers called him and warned him not to call the police.
It has been threatened that we should not involve the police, he stated. However, our family is in a state of extreme anxiety and feels compelled to seek assistance from law police. Urging the dedicated officers of the Nigeria Police Force to act immediately in order to apprehend these perpetrators is my sincere request. Their demands for ransom put our lives in danger, and their threats show it.
The worried dad also asked the authorities to assist him in keeping his home safe from the assailants for the time being.
My family has been deeply affected by this scenario. In order to guarantee our safety and bring these criminals to justice, I sincerely request prompt action,” he continued.
