War on Gaza: Israeli forces arrest Al-Shifa Hospital director
Along with other medical staff, Israeli forces have detained the director of Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital.
Several prominent doctors, including “Doctor Mohammad Abu Salmiya,” were arrested, according to hospital department chief Khalid Abu Samra, who spoke with the AFP news agency.
A confirmation of the arrest has also been made by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.
Prior to its occupation, Israeli troops claimed without proof that Gaza’s largest hospital served as a command headquarters for Hamas.
The medical complex was besieged and raided by Israeli forces this month, leading to brutal scenes at the hospital. Snipers opened fire on anyone attempting to go between the two medical buildings for days, causing a global uproar.
Many consider Al-Shifa to be the administrative hub of the Gaza government. The government’s Media Ministry has been based out of the hospital, and officials from the Health Ministry have held news conferences with corpses surrounding them.Along with other medical staff, Israeli forces have detained the director of Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital.
