According to TNT news , an ex-parte application was filed by the Federal Government, the Attorney General of the Federation, and the Minister of Justice requesting that the court prevent the unions from going ahead with their planned strike.

In his decision, Justice Benedict Kanyip, the Court’s President, ordered the unions to end their statewide strike, citing Sections 17 and 19 of the National Industrial Court Act.

To demand justice for the assault on NLC President Joe Ajaero that occurred in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on November 1, 2023, unions countrywide launched a nationwide strike on Tuesday.

Numerous states’ workers joined the walkout, causing some government-owned facilities to close.

As the industrial action progressed, some jurisdictions saw partial compliance as some workers choose to continue with their regular responsibilities.
