After an argument, a woman pours hot oil on her husband.
Mrs. Hope Nwala, a middle-aged woman from the Obite Community in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, doused her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo, in hot groundnut oil.
According to The Nation, the Okehi community residents were arguing because the wife’s younger sister was staying with them and acting disrespectfully.
Nwankwo claimed yesterday that his sister-in-law’s disrespectful behaviour prompted him to kick her out of the house, despite his wife’s adamant objections.
After he gave his sister-in-law money to leave town because he could no longer stand being around her, he claims things quickly became dangerous.
He said, “No young guy would tolerate such behaviour, but my wife has refused the younger sister to leave the house. I have told her to leave my house because of the way she has started dressing and the way she occupies my matrimonial bed even when I am around.
He followed my wife and sister around everywhere they went, and I even caught a glimpse of him in the shop I rented for my wife, where he was alone with her. So that I could find out what was going on in my own home, I gave her younger sister N2,000 to cover transportation home. However, my wife became angry. Before I went to sleep, she doused me in boiled groundnut oil and began beating me with a harmer.
After the incident, the husband was rushed to the hospital, and the woman fled the scene.
