The three inmates who escaped during the jailbreak on October 3–9 have been recaptured by Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) troops in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Ten additional criminals were apprehended for their roles in the kidnappings, prison breaks, and cattle rustlings. The recovery of illegal drugs and weapons was reported by The Nation.
The re-arrest occurred in Barkin Ciyawa, Qua’pan Local Government Area, Plateau State, and the inmates were identified as Chekirmak Tapir, Senmacong Tapir, and Swaroong Tapir.
The villages of Washina and Razak in the councils of Mangu and Barkin Ladi were also saved from an attack by the troops. Duelling pistols scared the assailants away. But one of them was successfully apprehended.
Additionally, one Baretta pistol was recovered from notorious kidnapper Buba Ibrahim by the Operation SAFE HAVEN tactical team in Tilden Fulani Village in the Toro council of Bauchi State.
Troops also apprehended one Williams Seaman in connection with the attack on one Nanbak Ayuba at his home in Shorom village, Bokkos council, according to a statement released by the spokesman, Capt. James Oya. A 9mm pistol, two bullets, and an empty case were all found.
During the time period under review, thirteen people were apprehended; four victims were rescued from kidnappers; one cattle rustler was apprehended; seven drug dealers were apprehended; and two attacks on vulnerable communities were thwarted.
