On the Lagos–Ibadan Motorway, a fuel tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), more commonly known as petrol, exploded.

Many drivers and passengers were delayed after an incident last night near the OPIC axis in Isheri, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State.

Many motorists were compelled to travel in the opposite direction, and commuters were prompted to take evasive action.

Neither the explosion’s cause nor the truck’s final destination are known at this time. At the time this report was written, no law enforcement or emergency personnel had arrived at the scene of the blast.

The Lagos-Ibadan Motorway has a history of mishaps like this one.

A man, who has not yet been identified, was killed in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway that involved 16 people just five days ago at the Magboro Bus Stop.

The accident happened at approximately 7:50 a.m., and seven other passengers were reported hurt.

The accident reportedly involved a Mercedes ML350 with the number plate number AKD424HH and a Volkswagen commercial bus with the number plate number KSF934YA.

An eyewitness claims the Mercedes Benz was swerving to avoid another driver when it crashed into a commercial bus that was waiting at a bus stop.
