Fire at a hotel in Lagos, losses totaled in the millions.
Yesterday evening, a fire broke out at the Ibis Royal Hotel in the Ajao Estate area of the Airport Road in Lagos State.
The building, which appeared to be two stories tall in the videos that were posted online, was completely destroyed by the fire.
The fire was reported at 4:50 p.m., according to a post on X by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Lagos State, Babjide Sanwo-Olu.
According to Gawat, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service’s Isolo and Bolade Fire Crews put out the flames in time to prevent severe damage.
All operations were successfully completed with zero casualties. Thank you for your service to the people of Lagos State, he said.
