The Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party are contesting President Bola Tinubu’s election, and the Presidential Election Petition Court has resumed sitting in the Nation’s Capital so that the respondents—INEC, the APC, and its presidential candidate—can present their opening defense.

In response to a petition filed by the Labour Party, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented three witnesses.

According to Counsel to INEC Abubakar Mahmoud, the defense’s first scheduled witness for this morning had to cancel due to an emergency at home.

Counsel for the Labour Party, Levi Uzoukwu, the All Progressives Congress, Lateef Fagbemi, and the Tinubu campaign, Wole Olanikpekun, all agreed with his request to postpone the case until tomorrow, July 4.

The court adjourned until 2 PM so that the defense could present its case in the PDP petition.
