We have killed and buried the wife of the Fulani chief – Bandits

Bandits have informed the family of Abubakar Ardo, the Fulani chief of Rugan Ardo in Janjala, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna State, that they have buried the body of his wife, whom they murdered in their den, and have urged them to pray for her soul.

Wakili Usman, a family member who spoke with our reporter by telephone on Tuesday, stated that the leader of the bandits relayed the news to another family member, who then called the bandits to beg for the release of the woman’s body for burial.

He stated that the family had pleaded with the bandits to release the woman’s body, but were shocked when the bandits’ leader responded on Monday that the woman’s body had already been buried in their hideout.

The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida, who also confirmed the news to our reporter via telephone, stated, “I was away in Jere when I received a call that the bandits had already buried Ardo’s wife in their camp. The next step was holding a funeral prayer for her.”

He noted that the majority of Janjala’s residents, particularly women and children, had fled the area due to the region’s pervasive abductions.

City & Crime recalls that the bandits reportedly gunned down Hulaira Abubakar Ardo, the senior wife of the Fulani chief, after collecting N2 million from her family and releasing her three abducted co-wives.

The spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command did not comment on the development.
