Those Who Hope To Replace Tinubu Are Daydreaming – Fayose

1

Fayose, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, stated that the 2023 presidential election has concluded and a winner has emerged, adding that those who did not win on the field should be aware that the winner will not allow their victory to be challenged in court.

“If you believe you can unseat Ahmed Bola Tinubu, you are daydreaming, you are daydreaming, you are putting yourself through a nightmare; that election has passed.

“In Nigerian politics, it is preferable to win on the field; the one you are referring to is an afterthought, launched after the fact.

When you yell “court court,” will others look to you to assume control of the court before they do? Fayose posed the question rhetorically.

“In the United States, the former president continues to claim he was rigged. Whoever seeks justice must have clean hands. Today, in Nigeria, that election has concluded, but you are free to file a lawsuit.”

In the run-up to the election, the former governor explained, members of Integrity Group — comprised of five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors and other party leaders — were asked to support a southern presidential candidate in their respective states.

Fayose stated that there was a directive for members of the Integrity Group to support a southern candidate, and while those from the South East and South South supported Peter Obi of the Labour Party, he sided with Asiwaju, who is from his region, the South West.

Fayose stated that he is not desperate for an appointment and that he will never join the All Progressives Congress because he will not “cringe over a piece of food” (APC).

“Many Nigerians have been confronted with what they’ve said in the past, and they either recant or say something new.” “I am standing here to tell you that I will never join the APC,” he stated.

“I am no longer in politics for what it is. I’ve had two fair opportunities to lead Ekiti and have defeated two incumbents.

“Nigeria is not a nation that we take for granted. The outcome of this election will demonstrate that a large number of people were displaced as a result of taking people for granted.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu the winner of the presidential election held on February 25 on March 1.

However, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have petitioned the election tribunal to overturn Tinubu’s victory.
