4 suspected electoral offenders are turned over by Police to INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reportedly received four suspected electoral offenders, according to the Police command in Lagos State. SP. Benjamin Hundeyin, the police public relations officer in Lagos, reaffirmed this on Friday. Six of the 23 people detained during the Lagos State Presidential and Parliamentary elections, according to Hundeyin, were allegedly found responsible for electoral and criminal acts.
He claimed that on Friday morning, two men and two women were turned over to INEC for alleged PVC theft and illegal possession of sensitive election materials. The police would reportedly pursue charges against two additional suspects who were also taken into custody that day for allegedly unlawfully possessing firearms.
