Ondo lawyer arraigned on N4.7m theft charge

The police in Ondo State have brought a lawyer, Mr. Anthony Thomas, before a Magistrate Court in Ondo town for alleged theft of N4,775,000.

 

The charge reads: “That you, Anthony Oladele Thomas, sometime in 2009 at Ondo Town, within the Ondo State Magisterial District, did steal the sum of N4,775,000 being part of the proceeds of the sale of Flionis property belonging to Olufemi Adesioye and his family by fraudulently converting the money to your personal use.”

 

Thomas pleaded not guilty.

 

Magistrate Oluwatoyin Olowokere admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N3million with two sureties in the like sum.
