Cristiano Ronaldo after reportedly agreeing the £173 million-a-year contract with Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia will become the highest earner in sports.
Following a mutual termination of his contract with Manchester United earlier this month of the 37-year-old following an unhealthy relationship with the club chiefs which took a nose dive after the revelatory TV interview with Piers Morgan where he made some controversial statements.
Spanish newspaper outlet Marca reported that Ronaldo has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with Al Nassr -worth £173m-per-year meaning he will play until the age of 40 with them.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is currently taking part in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Portugal. Portugal have won two matching in their group which has automatically qualified them for the second round.
Ronaldo scored a penalty in Portugal’s first match against Ghana thereby making history as the only player to score in five different World Cups having also scored in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 editions.
The Portuguese star is determined to leave Europe and accept Al-Nassr’s lucrative offer, according to MARCA.
The Spanish newspaper noted that no European or MLS team can match the aforementioned offer.
