Three suspended lawmakers reinstated
As the Assembly reinstated three of the suspended lawmakers. The rank of the lawmakers supporting former Ekiti Speaker Gboyega Aribisogan has been further depleted
After the removal of Aribisogan and the emergence of Hon. Bunmi Adelugba as Speaker, a fierce battle started between the duo determined to undo each other.
The lawmakers are Yemisi Ayokunle (Ekiti Southwest); Ajibade Raphael (Moba) and Tope Ogunleye (Ilejemeje).
The Assembly slammed an indefinite suspension on Aribisogan and six others for allegedly working against the interest of the party and preference for Adelugba.
One of those that were hammered was Hon Balogun representing Ado constituency 2.
But, the Assembly at its parliamentary on Tuesday, lifted the suspension on the lawmakers following the adoption of the motion moved by the Majority Leader Bode Adeoye and seconded by Biodun Fawekun.
These were contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Publicity, Hon Adeoye Aribasoye.
The statement reads: “The Ekiti State House of Assembly today, 29 day of November, 2022 at her plenary sitting lifted the suspension earlier placed on Hons Tope Ogunleye, Yemisi Ayokunle and Ajibade Rapheal Adeyemi.
“The reinstatement is consequent to the consideration of their various letters of apology to the house and fulfillment of other conditions attached thereto.
“The three honourable members are therefore readmitted to the Ekiti legislative fold with all their rights and privileges restored.”
