A businessman, Segun Oparinde, has been abducted by gunmen who ambushed him at the entrance of his house at Imeko, in the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State.

During the operation which happened around 11.30pm on Tuesday, the gunmen allegedly shot Oparinde’s in-law, Bello Ibrahim, who rushed out when he heard the businessman shouting for help.

Thereafter, the gunmen hijack Oparinde’s car and whisked him away. After driving to a location, they abandoned the vehicle and entered a bush.

He said, “His in-law, Bello Ibrahim, who was shot, is receiving treatment at the Imeko General Hospital. His vehicle was later seen this morning at Igbo Ifa Iwa Street, Imeko town.

“It was abandoned in the main town. They have dragged him (Oparinde) into the bush. We are yet to get any help from security agencies. We have called the police and the Amotekun Corps. We want the government to help us rescue him.”

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, pleaded for some time to get details of the incident.
