Sylva Donates Medical Items, Food Items Worth Millions Of Naira To Flood Victims In Bayelsa

The Former Governor of Bayelsa State and currently the Honourable Minister of State For Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, has donated medical items and food items amounting to millions of naira to ameliorate the suffering of well-meaning Bayelsans affected by the ravaging flood in various Local Government Areas across the State.

The negative impacts of the devasting situation caused by the ravaging flood cannot be understated, which lives has been lost including properties and businesses amounting to billions of naira has been destroyed. Farmlands has been destroyed and families have been made homeless as a result of the ravaging flood in the past few weeks.

A source reveals that the medical items and food items were stocked up in Delta State for weeks, due to the dilapidated state of the East-West which has been damaged by the ravaging flood, stressing that the relief materials arrived Yenagoa, Bayelsa State yesterday, as the flood water has receded to a manageable state for vehicles to apply the road.

It is an unarguable fact that the people are greatly affected by the ravaging flood which has destroyed lives and properties for the past weeks. People’s lives has been lost while some people hospitalized for the past weeks, and there is a great need to provide medical outreach and food items to ameliorate the suffering of residents in the state.

A reliable source reveals that medical practitioners has been engaged to carry out the medical outreach in various internally displaced persons camps in various local government areas across the state, with the sole purpose of ameliorating the suffering of the people greatly affected by the ravaging flood which has made families homeless and helpless for the past weeks.
