The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate in the 2023 General Election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has expressed his confidence in winning the 2023 presidential election.

The former Lagos State governor, while speaking at the Kaduna Investment programme held at the Arewa Hall, Kaduna, the state capital, showered encomiums on Governor Nasir el-Rufai, saying Nigeria needed a thinker like the Kaduna State helmsman.

Tinubu said his government, apparently, after the tenure of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), had elapsed in 2023, would ensure that no inch of Nigeria’s territory would be ceded to bandits and armed robbers.

According to the APC national leader,  his government will prioritise the restoration of peace and security across the length and breadth of the country.

Tinubu said, “I am confidently telling you that I will win with your support and I know you are very supportive of me. I know that I am at home here in Kaduna.

“We will continue to prioritise the restoration of peace and security across all our territory. I assure you, no inch of this country will be ceded to banditry and armed robbery. We will fight it together.

“I am very confident. Under my leadership, the government will place great emphasis on the use of counterinsurgency as a strategy by our military.

“We will continue to train and equip our gallant forces and security personnel with the resources here and all technology necessary to eliminate crime in our society.

“Nigeria will succeed and grow to prosperity, I assure you. Again, another evidence of confidence.

“I will champion an efficient government that will eliminate revenue leakages across fiscal areas leveraging technology…”

Meanwhile, the APC national leader has begged Governor El-Rufai to remain in the country beyond 2023 to work with him as he was confident of being the next President after Buhari.

According to Tinubu, “If you leave me on the podium, I will continue to campaign here, begging el-Rufai not to run away from Nigeria in 2023 because we need your (el-Rufai) creativity at this critical time.”

Reacting, el-Rufai said, “I promise to stay even on a part-time basis.”

On the economy, the APC presidential hopeful stressed that his government “will prioritise the ease of doing business, and also ensure steady power supply and distribution.

“Nigeria will succeed and move on to prosperity. I will assemble intelligent Nigerians both men and women for the progress of our country. We will champion an effective government that will block revenue leakages for proper accountability.”
