Ondo entrepreneurs lament effects of insecurity on their businesses

The Ondo State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ONDOCCIMA) has lamented security challenges affecting businesses of its members across the state.

The current security challenges in the state had far-reaching negative consequences on the investment climate and costs of doing business.

 

President, ONDOCCIMA, Olugbemiga Araoyinbo, who spoke in Akure shortly after he was sworn in as the body’s new president, said the major tasks before the new executives was to increase the momentum economic recovery.

 

He said Ondo State has continued to witness widespread criminality, including kidnapping, banditry and destruction of public properties, businesses and social institutions.

 

According to him, “Without exaggeration, Ondo State Business environment has been adversely affected by the security threats due to the vulnerability of our porous borders and communities and this has directly stunting investment.

 

“We will remain  committed to sustaining ONDOCCIMA’s legacy and providing creative ways to support the business community and facilitate real-time measures and innovations in favour of businesses.

 

“ONDOCCIMA shall continue to implement the already available template of direct interaction developed over the years that has helped ONDOCCIMA to leverage on having relationship with other members of the Nigerian OPS as done in the past.”
