Manhunt for 14-year-old Plateau girl

Maryam Salisu a young girl of 14 years old was murdered on Tuesday last week in the outskirts of Babale village, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The Plateau State Police Command has vowed arrest of her killer.

Batholome Onyeka, Commissioner of police, represented by SP Musa Hassan, Divisional Police Officer of Nassarawa Gwong Division, said this when he visited the family of the deceased.

The deceased was murdered and vital organs removed after she and 12 other girls went to fetch firewood for their homes.

The spokesperson of the family, Fatima Danliti, thanked the police for their concern. Responding on behalf of the community, the acting District Head, Aminu Maisamari, appealed to the police to ensure the arrest of the criminal.

The DPO, however, cautioned residents of the area to desist from sending children to bush or farm, especially, as the elections was approaching.
