The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC Ekiti State Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of one of its officers and abduction of some people by gunmen along OkeAko – Ajowa road in Ikole local government of the State.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, the Command Public Relations Officer, MrToluAfolabi said investigation was ongoing to arrest the perpetrators of the evil act.
According to him, one of our officers was shot dead yesterday on his way from Ado Ekiti to his home town while others were kidnapped by gunmen.
Source in the town had told our reporter that the officer, who was travelling from Ado Ekiti to his home town, was attacked in his vehicle and shot dead while the gunmen kidnapped his younger brother and two children with him in the car.
According to the source hunters in the neighbouring communities had started combing the bush for possibility of apprehending the gunmen.
Also, The Regent of OkeAko, Princess TinuadeOgunbiyi said she got the information that somebody was shot dead on the road while others were kidnapped, saying It is the same thing repeating itself on a daily basis.
