Editorial: The Positive Advantages of Technology In The Lives of Modern-Day Students

Doubling the corrective lenses or rather viewing from the aerial side of this era, it should be generally agreed that, the world is dynamically experiencing technological revolution and, till date the cycle keeps cycling. A dire need to revolve is urgently dispersed in every aspect. Gone are those days, we had to walk many miles away from home to post our letter through post office or rather using NITEL or NIPOST. Then, that is simply the world of Telecommunication that seems like daydreaming! Dashing through the snow of Education sector, enough of carrying the whole textbooks with you or rather burning kerosene all night, staying awake to use lantern, though that’s severe compare to the fact that you mistakenly kicked it. Alas!! The whole system drastically changes, as Technology eroded the system into another entity.

In our different schools, the total number of students already outnumbered the total number of modern facilities present, looking at mere statistics of a school settings, in several occasions, a teacher is saddled with the responsibility of teaching 5 or 6 classrooms in a day, and each of these students has their unique character endowed with, different learning pace and separate learning strategies. How possible is it, for the teacher to judiciously use 45minutes to satisfy the whole? Nowadays, technology simplifies and drastically impact practicable and easily accessible learning process either Normal mode or rather Gamified mode, without excluding any. Assisting the students to specifically indulge in any route, they can assimilate faster. This isn’t about well grounded and explanatory terms accessed on search engine alone, but rather it also implores different techniques in different applications and separate strategies put into place in each of them.

Once upon a time, they had to travelled a mile away from their comfort zone, just for them to meet their tutor, especially in a community where they rarely get access to community teachers, but rather teacher coming down from the city to the community school once in a week, whereas getting back home doesn’t speak of any relief, but rather to stay awake just for them to revise, probably if revision can be done after a long stressful day. Nowadays, technology had brought remote connections between the tutor and the students at their comfort zone, creating avenue for interactive session through social media such as Zoom, Google meet, Moddle or even creating different online group for virtual group reading right beneath their roofs, reading e-books and solving different questions online, juxtaposing different ideas and receiving feedback instantly never left behind the scene.

Moving to an end, it should be noted that, the wrong side of the whole argument can be portraited as being right and vice versa but our attitudes towards the implementation of technological equipment speaks of it impact as a Modern-day students. Technology is really a blessing that must be considered as one of its kind.
