Katsina Assembly to meet Buhari, Masari over worsening insecurity
Following the renewed wave of bandits and terrorist activities, as ell as their closeness to the state capital, the Katsina State House of Assembly has resolved to meet President Muhammadu Buhari and
Governor Aminu Bello Masari, over the worsening insecurity situation in the state.
Honourable Aliyu Al-Baba, the House Committee Chairman on Information, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the assembly’s concern over the worsening insecurity situations in Katsina.
According to him, the assembly receives daily reports of the activities of bandits and terrorist attacks from across the state, which we find very worrisome.
The lawmaker described the current insecurity situation in the state as unacceptable, saying that urgent steps must be taken to arrest the situation.
“The present insecurity situations in Katsina and across the Frontline local government areas is unacceptable and urgent attention must be taken to arrest the worsening situation.
“The House has also decided to meet with all the security chiefs, the Army, the Airforce, Police, the DSS, Civil Defense and others in the state to design a way forward to improving and arresting the
situation”, he added.
The member representing the Katsina constituency in the state Assembly also supported the Governor’s call for people to defend themselves against the bandits and other terror attacks, rather than wait for the government that can not do anything for the citizens.
