Ex-Anambra lawmaker kidnapped, abductors demand ransom in dollars
A former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr., Benson Nwawulu.has been abducted, with his kidnappers demanding ransom in dollars.
Nwawulu is the third lawmaker to be abducted in the three months in the state.
The two former victims, Okechukwu Okoye was beheaded, while Nelson Achukwu was also killed by his abductors.
Nwawulu, who represented Ogbaru 1 constituency until 2019, was abducted in his Ihiala country home in Ihiala local government area of the state.
The former lawmaker’s son has already reached out to some members of his father’s colleagues to raise funds to pay the ransom which the abductors demanded in dollars.
The state police command has confirmed, the abduction, with the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga saying that efforts were at advanced stage to rescue him
“Yes, he was kidnapped and we are making efforts to release him as we are on their trail,” he said. (Vanguard)
