The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has praised various Judges that granted justice to its numerous court cases across Nigeria.
The group particularly hailed a recent judgement reportedly delivered in favour of its lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, before Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa of the Federal High Court, Awka, Anambra State.
Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa of a Federal High Court in Anambra, had, on Friday reportedly awarded N102m compensatory damages in favour of Ejiofor for gross violation of his fundamental rights and cost of litigation.
The court also awarded him N5m being the cost of his Toyota Camry car which was burnt by security agencies.
Ejiofor had, in a fundamental rights enforcement suit with No: FHC/AWK/CS/56/2021, dragged the Federal Government to court to challenge the invasion of his ancestral home in Oraifite, Anambra State, on June 6, 2021, by security personnel during which his aide was killed.
In a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB slammed Jiustice Binta Nyako handling the case of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, accusing her of partiality on the matter, just as it urged the world to demand the reason behind Kanu’s lingering detention.
It noted that Attorney-General of the Federation, Alhaji Abubakar Mallami, and Justice Binta Nyako, in collaboration with the Federal Government, had not come out clearly to tell the world the crime Kanu committed that warranted his alleged kidnap and extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria and kept in DSS facility till date.
While reiterating its resolve to the referendum demand, the secessionist group stressed that no amount of intimidation and threats would stop the move.
The statement reads in part: “We, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under our great leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU commend all the fearless Judges who gave justice to all IPOB cases litered in all courts in Nigeria.
“We commend the recent judgement delivered in favour of the IPOB Councel Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor whom Nigeria Government and its compromised security agencies attacked and murdered his Personal Assistance, adopt others and burnt his personal car and country home at Oraifite Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State.
“We commend the Judge who without minding the intimidation from the terrorist Government of Buhari and his Fulani kinsmen delivered a landmark judgment against Nigeria Government and her compromised security agencies and ordered them to compensate him for the evil they did to him.
“The only crime that Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor committeed was being a defense lawyer to IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Barr. Ejiofor is only doing his professional job as an Attorney according to law. But he has always been harrased, intimidated, threatened and have lost persons around him and properties worth of millions from Nigeria State in the course of doing his professional job.
“IPOB salute men and women of the Bench who don’t yield to the oppressive government of Nigeria but delivered justice to IPOB members who has been illegally adopted, turtured, detained and denied freedom in many security detentions facilities across Nigeria.
“IPOB will not forget to appreciate Justice Ademola of Abuja High Court who gave justice to our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU in 2015 that he commited no crime against any man or nation.
“This honorable Judge granted unconditional release of our Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in 2015 which unmasked the injustice that the current Judge, Justice Binta Nyako of Federal High Court Abuja is trying so hard to masked again against Nnamdi Kanu.
“Attorney General of Nigeria, Alhaji Mallami and Justice Binta Nyako in collation with the Fulani Controlled Federal Government has not come out openly to tell the world the crime of Mazi Nnamdi KANU that made them kidnap him from Kenya, extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria and still kept him in the DSS Solidarity conferment till date.
“It is important for everyone to know that Justice Binta Nyako is totally biased over the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. To them Mazi Nnamdi Kanu being a Biafran and not a Fulani man needs to be tortured and humiliated to submission by the Fulani Government.
“We want the world to ask Binta Nyako why is she still keeping Mazi Nnamdi KANU in DSS solitary confinement with her endless court adjournments. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are being persecuted by Nigeria Government for only having different political opinions. We have committed no crime known to any law in the world.
“But both AGN, Mallami and Justice Binta Nyako and their collaborators have failed and will always fail because Elohim, Chukwu Okike Abiama is behind the Biafra struggle and no one can stop this move until Biafra comes.
“Let the Biafra adversaries understand this, BIAFRA through a UN supervised Referendum is what we are asking for, and that we must get, it doesn’t matter how many Biafrans they kill or jail.”
