I killed my girlfriend for breaking my iPhone 11 Pro Max — 23-year-old murder suspect
A 23-year-old murder suspect, Godspower Adegheji who killed his 22 years old girlfriend identified as Gift Oloku on Sunday revealed that he hit her with a machete under the influence of hard drugs.
Speaking while he was paraded along with other suspects by the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Ali Mohammed Ari at the Police Headquarters, Adegheji stated that, “It was a mistake; this is the biggest mistake of my life. We have a son together, I never imagined I would kill my girlfriend. I really do not know how what came over me.
“I was on drugs that day, I took the drugs because I was angry. She damaged by iPhone 11 Pro Max. I also caught her cheating on me then we talked about it but I still had it on my mind. Initially, we were fighting and they separated us. I started beating her with a part of my generator when we got inside the house. I hit her with the back of the machete and left her on the balcony while she was still conscious.
It was when I woke up I found out that she was lying unconscious on the floor that I rushed her to the hospital,” he said.
It would be recalled that the suspect was arrested on July 16, 2022, at Etevie quarters in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State for hacking his girlfriend, a 22-year-old female student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Gift Oloku to death during a fight.
