Hajj 2022: Islamic scholar dies in Makkah

An Islamic scholar Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Maigona is dead.

The 48-year-old cleric from Gombe state died at Namma Mawadda Hotel in Makkah days after completing hajj rites.

He was said to have complained of illness before he passed on.

According to an eyewitness, the Islamic scholar proclaimed Khalimah Shahadah (Laila Islamic lahu – There’s no God except Allah) before he gave up.

Islamic scholars agreed that such proclamation is a sign that the person will enjoy the blessing of Allah.

The late Sheikh Maigona’s remains have been taken to Masjid Haram for Janazah and interment.

Head of National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) Medical Team Dr Usman Shua’ibu Galadima said Sheikh Maigona was brought in around 1pm and immediately attended to.

According to him, his situation aggravated and in a bid to arrest his worsening health situation, he gave up.

Galadima said the deceased had once visited the clinic and was treated for another ailment. (The Nation)
