No communal war in Ebonyi, disregard social media news — Police

The Police Command in Ebonyi has urged the general public to disregard the news circulating on social Media that there is a serious war in the state.

The Spokesman of the Command, SP Chris Anyanwu, said in a telephone interview with the News Agency of (NAN) on Thursday in Abakaliki, that the news was fake.

According to Anyanwu, the news is fake and people should disregard it because there is no war in Ebonyi state.

He urged the public and social media handlers to always cross check their facts before posting and misinformed people.

NAN recalls that the news started trending early hours of Thursday on various social media.

The news read, “There is a serious war going on in Ebonyi state now. Eziulo and Ishielu are fighting very bloody again. The major express road is blocked.

There is no road going to Enugu. Enugu/Abakaliki Express Road is the heat of their fight. Please, tell families and friends and share to any group to be very careful around the state and to save lives. (NAN)
