APC fingers PDP over attack on Oyetola’s convoy, disruption of PVC collection
All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun State on Friday alleged that political thugs of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were behind the attack on the convoy of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola during his campaign and disruption of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) collection center in Ijeshaland.
Speaking on behalf of the APC leaders, Commissioner for Works, Oluremi Omowaiye and federal lawmaker, Lawrence Ayeni addressing newsmen in Ilesha said, “political thugs of PDP attacked the governor’s convoy at Ikoyi junction on his way to Osu, taking advantage of the peace-loving character of Oyetola who will prevent his security to take necessary action against them. We petitioned the Osun Commissioner of Police and the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman.“Again, on Thursday, the thugs attacked about ten members of our party in Ward 3 and 4 in Ilesha West, leaving them severely injured. The victims are Opeyemi Oke, Ward 3 unit chairman, Wale Adeoye, Legal adviser Ward 3, and Seyi Anjorin. One of them is in a coma. as they disrupted the PVC collection center in the area.”
However, the Director of Media, PDP, Oladele Oluwabamiji, berated the allegations of APC, saying, “the ruling party is shedding crocodile tears to cover up their evil act. It is not reasonable for an opposition whose strength lies in the people to now turn around against the same people that are collecting the PVC to vote for us.”Oluwabamiji refused to make comment on the alleged attack on the convoy of Governor Oyetola.
