Gunmen kill landlord, two others in Sapele
Pandemonium broke out in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, on Tuesday evening, as unknown Gunmen allegedly killed three persons.
A Facebook user, Sapele Oghenek who made the disclosure on his verified page, said the gunmen stormed a provision store situated opposite, Seplat Petroleum Development Company by Ufuoma Atose street at about 7:10pm.
He stated further that without any provocation, they opened fire on some of the customers leading to the death of two of them on the spot.
He noted that several other persons that were injured, including the landlord of the compound which also house the provision store were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention but the landlord died before the arrival of medical officials.
It could be recalled that Sapele town had been enmeshed by stories of killings of innocent persons by unknown gunmen in recent times, which sparked a peaceful protest by some women a week ago.
When contacted the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, as at the time of filling this report for further confirmation, stated that he has not been briefed of the incident but promised to get back to this reporter. (Daily Independent)
