Woman drags police inspector to Edo CP for threatening her life
A businesswoman, Mrs Queen Okojie, has petitioned the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, over an alleged assault, confiscation of personal property and threat to her life by one Inspector Monday Aidomoh of Mopol 60, Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo state.
In a petition signed by her lawyer S.A. Ikpea, Mrs Queen Okojie stated that Inspector Aidomoh of Mopol 60 Iyamho had threatened to eliminate her under the guise of an ‘accidental discharge’ due to irreconcilable differences between her and one Netty Abu said to be a lady friend of the Inspector.
“We are informed by our client that one Inspector Monday Aidomoh of Mopol 60, Iyamoh, has a lady friend by the name of Netty Abu, who runs a store beside our client’s residence. Aidomoh is attached to Setraco/Hartland Estate. He passes by our client’s residence and her store when going and coming from the Estate, situated at the far end of the road.
“The relationship between Netty Abu and our client has been so strained because of constant quarrels between them always caused by Netty Abu. In short, Netty Abu has had cause to apologise to our client via newspaper publication on one occasion and at another had rung bell around Auchi town in her bid to appease our client.
“In his bid to please his lover, Insp Monday Aidomoh has taken sides with Netty Abu by trying to revenge or fight for her with our client. This has made Inspector Monday Aidomoh openly boast to our client that he will eliminate her under the guise of accidental discharge and that nothing will happen thereafter. He has on occasions openly called our client “Ashawo” (Harlot) to the hearing of the public,” the petition stated in parts.
Mrs Queen Okojie appealed to the Commissioner of Police to come to her rescue as the Inspector is not above the law.
Meanwhile, Edo Police Command spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwanbuzor, who confirmed receipt of the petition assured that justice would be served on the matter.
He explained that though the accused Inspector was yet to honour the command’s invitations, it has perfected arrangements to wield its alternative tool for handling such personnel. (Daily Trust)
