Okada riders and operatives of the Lagos Task Force, who were enforcing the state’s Okada ban clashed in the Idi Araba area on Tuesday.

Multiples sources on social media warned commuters and residents to be cautious around the area.

However, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, claimed that the area is safe.

It was gathered that the Okada riders who went on the rampage vandalised vehicles in the area.

Reacting to the incident, the Lagos PPRO said, “Idi-Araba is safe. Nothing to worry about. Just some lawless motorcycle operators trying to cause trouble after their motorcycles were impounded.

“Our men are fully on the ground. Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alabi personally coordinating our response.

“They can’t fight because Taskforce went well prepared.

“They were just causing a scene after the task force left with some of their impounded motorcycles. Rapid Response Squad and men from the Area Command have since been drafted there. Absolutely nothing to worry about.” (The PUNCH)
