There was a tragedy as a toilet wall in a compound in Iyara, in Warri claimed the lives of 3 children on Saturday 4th June, 2022.

The deceased children, 2 boys and one girl were between the ages of 3 to 5years old.

One of them was said to be the only child of his mother.

While another a deaf and dumb woman was said to be a mother of the victims.

It was gathered that the windy downpour of that fateful day caused of the collapse of the wall and that children were by the side of the wall when it collapsed.

When the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Headquarters, Asaba DSP Bright Edafe, was contacted for confirmation of the incident, he requested that our correspondent should do so through a text message which our correspondent did.

But there was no response from him at the time of filing this report.

However, the Chairman of Atise-Olu (also called Iyara) Community, Mr Eju Akubor confirmed the story to our correspondent.

He expressed regret that there was no health centre in the area where children would have been rushed to for first aid when the dastardly incident occurred.

He told our correspondent that there was an eleven years abandoned health project in the area which he said has a population of over 4 thousand persons
