Reactions as Peter Obi dumps PDP, withdraws from presidential contest
Reactions have trailed the defection of the former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
I will be recalled that on Wednesday, Obi officially announced his defection from the party, and withdrawal from the presidential contest.
His announcement gathered a lot of mixed reactions as Nigerians are shocked by his sudden withdrawal as the PDP primaries draw closer.

@NoelPYari1 wrote, “Jesus Christ, my candidate is not longer in the race again. Nigeria is finished.”
@Capt_Hartins wrote, “Why can’t you just stay put till the end? Why can’t you stand strong and withstand the pressure? This is exactly why our political system is a mess, Little pressure everyone running for a particular office will resign to join another party. PDP is and remains the opposition.”
@ideythere wrote, “Sooo… what next?…what happens to some of us that believe in you?. Is this how you deal with tough situations?”
@Mohnice_ wrote, “Someone has finally speak sense into peter Obi’s head. He was never having the intention to contest the election.
“He was pushed by some hungry &greedy social media politicians. Dude equally knows that even if he wins the PDP primary in his dream, he can’t win the general election.”
@EEjikonye wrote, “Wow! This changes the dynamics very radically. However, whatever you decide next, your name must be on the ballot for 2023 Presidency. You cannot garner this massive following and dump us midway; that choice is not yours to make. Just point the way, we follow. Aluta continua!” (Daily Independent)
