Two NSCDC operatives killed in Benue communities

Two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and two other villagers have been killed in separate attacks in Benue State.

 

Witnesses said that the security personnel were killed while on duty on Friday at waterside vicinity in Wadata axis of Makurdi Local Government Area, while the villagers were hacked to death in Logo LGA of the state.

 

A resident said that the NSCDC personnel encountered some armed invaders who opened fire on them.

The other two deceased, according to a community leader who pleaded anonymity, were attacked on Thursday evening at Tse Tume in Turan council ward of Logo while they were working on their farm.

The community leader gave their names as Terkende Injarwua and Mfaiga Ukor, adding that their corpse had been recovered and buried on Friday.

Contacted, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Michael Ejelikwu, promised over seven hours to give a detail account of the incident but he was yet to do so at the time of sending this report.
