Two missing teenagers found dead at back of varsity hostel, bodies mutilated
By ABUBAKAR YUSUF, Anyigba
Two teenagers who were missing for five days in Anyigba, the university town of Kogi State, have been found dead at back of the students lodge, with their bodies butchered and mutilated in what appears to be a case of ritual killing.
The two boys, Ndah and Ibro, aged 14 to 15 years, went strolling but never returned home. They are believed to have been lured and killed by young ritualists known as yahoo boys operating at the state university, Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba.
The police took custody of their mutilated bodies and have launched a manhunt for their killers.
The families of the two victims parents and other family members were enveloped in grief.
Their parents, Salisu Egbeneti and Ajechi Yunusa, both Anyigba indigenes, appealed to the law enforcement agencies, as well as state and local government authorities, to quickly unmask the killers of their children and nip in the bud the new trend of elimination of young ones in the community.
Cult clash and other criminal activities had been rampant in the state-owned university, but were brought under control by the new management under the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche. Indications, however, are that the bad boys are back and more brutal.
Anyigba community has expectedly been thrown into anxiety, mourning and uncertainty over the new spate of killings in the once peaceful town.
