Kaduna APC chieftain advises Bayelsa chapter leaders to rediscover winning ways
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kaduna State, Zakaria Nadabo, on Friday advised the party’s leaders in Bayelsa to join forces to rediscover its wining formulae in 2019.
The party won the 2019 governorship polls in 2019 but a Supreme Court judgement nullified the victory following irregularities in the names of the Deputy Governor-Elect on the eve of the inauguration on February 13, 2020.
Nadoba noted that it was important for APC leaders in Bayelsa to eschew their differences, close ranks and work together for the victory of the party come 2023.
Nadabo stated this during a visit to the office of an APC support group, Pastor Reuben Initiative for Good Leadership and Accountability, (PRIFGLA) in Yenagoa.
According to him, he is at the office of PRIFGLA in reciprocation of a similar visit done by a delegation of the group to him in Abuja during the party’s national convention.
He noted that leadership and accountability are critical ingredients that will make democracy thrive, pointing out that leaders at all strata must come together as one family to discuss, interface and settle whatever differences that tend to divide them.
The APC chieftain emphasised that consultation is key in achieving the goal of uniting party members, adding that he is going to ensure that he consults with well-meaning stakeholders at the issues of factions in Bayelsa APC.
The Zaria-born politician asserted that the President and key stakeholders in APC have been preaching the message of progress, happiness and unity as major elements in building the party.
He applauded the commended the initiator of the group, Pastor Reuben Wilson, for bringing members together and galvanising support for the party.
In his remarks, Chairman, Advisory Council of PRIFGLA, Hon. Stephen Ogalla, reiterated the need for party leaders to close ranks to work as one family.
Ogola said that APC in Bayelsa is polarized into three faction, adding that the advisory council has commenced engaging leaders of the various factions with the aim to unite everyone.
Also speaking, the initiator of the group, Pastor Reuben Wilson noted that the mission of the group is to bring unity amongst leaders so that the party can win election come 2023.
Wilson stated that initiative is ready to work to ensure that APC wins all elective positions, insisting that this can only be possible only if leaders and members unite as one family.
He appealed to Nadabo to take the message of uniting Bayelsa APC leaders to stakeholders at the national level to resolve differences that tend to divide them.
The Director General of PRIFGLA, Dr. Solomon David, said the initiator has single handedly sponsored the activities of the group from his personal fund not because he wants to contest any elective position but because of his love for the party.
The state Woman Leader of the group, Pastor Esther Martins, while speaking called on all leaders who genuinely love the party to bury their differences and unite to move the party forward.
