Again, gunmen invade cattle market in Anambra, kill 30 cows
Igboukwu cattle market in Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, was on Thursday evening invaded by gunmen, killing about 30 cows in addition to goats.
Information has it that the gunmen took off to the cattle market, Igboukwu from Ekwulobia where they burnt Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s local government headquarters.
According to a source in the area, Mr Iyke Orji, all the cows in the ranch were killed.
Orji said in a Facebook post: “The unknown firemen/gunmen after burning Aguata local government Secretariat, plied through Ekwulobia and headed straight to Igboukwu.
“Stopping at Igboukwu gallop, there’s a cattle ranch where they sell over 30 cows by your right hand, those cows belongs to an Igbo man.
“These guys entered there, and killed all the cows belonging to an Igbo man.”
A trending video on social media showed slain cows littering the cattle ranch, with traders bemoaning their loss.
