The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Malam Muhammad Bello has said criminals penetrate Abuja to perform their evil deeds and move on to the neighbouring states.

Bello said Abuja residents have been pressurising the FCT Administration on kidnapping.

Bello, who stated this when he received the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Zone 7, Police Headquarters, Mr Muhammad Aliyu and his team on a courtesy visit to the FCTA, expressed confidence in the capacity of the AIG given his wealth of experience and successes in similar postings across the country.

The minister, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Anthony Ogunleye yesterday said: “We have been under a lot of pressure from the citizens, especially with regard to the spate of kidnappings and some issues of banditry.”

The AIG, Zone 7 Police Headquarters, Mr Muhammad Ndatsu Aliyu had solicited the support of the FCTA, especially in the area of mobility for the effective coverage of the zone and by extension, the FCT.

He also assured of his preparedness to work in synergy with all security organs of the government to secure the zone. (The Nation: Excludes headline)
