A presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dele Momodu, has given a reason for not frequently visiting his hometown, Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The aspirant said his father had warned that he would be killed by witches and wizards in the town.

Momodu said this when he appeared as a guest on Arise TV‘s Morning Talk on Tuesday.

He said this while responding to a question on why he declared his presidential ambition in Ihievbe, Edo State.

Momodu said, “My father lived, worked, and died in Ile -Ife. When we asked him why he didn’t take us to Ihevbe, Edo, he said ‘because of witches and wizards’.

“When I told my mother that I was going there, in 2014, my mum wept. She said they will kill me. I said they are my people, if they kill me they can have me, and I went.

“I didn’t suddenly discover my root. If that’s the case, people wouldn’t have welcomed us the way they did. I appreciate the welcoming.

“There is nowhere (Bola) Tinubu or (Yemi) Osinbanjo will enter that I cannot sleep. I am also strong in the South-East.”

Momodu, on Sunday, April 7, declared his presidential ambition in his hometown, Ihevbe, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, noting that he remains the most qualified among those aspiring to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.

Momodu, who was received by a large crowd, said that he might not have been a governor, senator, minister but he has sat with the high and mighty, adding that he’s qualified to become the President of the country.

The traditional head of Ugba Village in the Ihievbe community, Pa. Rufus Aigbevbole, also described Dele Momodu as a son with whom they are well pleased. (The PUNCH)
