As Ramadan approaches, Pastor Yohana Buru of the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, on Tuesday led 50 Imams to preach to marketers in Kaduna to bring down prices of commodities.

Buru said the campaign would assist in making some of the marketers to reduce prices of the commodities to enable fasting Muslims buy at affordable prices.

According to him, every year ahead of Ramadan period, he normally kicks off this campaign in which he visits markets in Kaduna and talk to the marketers to help towards reducing the price of food stuff and other commodities.

He said the preaching is even more appropriate this year as Ramadan is coming amidst the general insecurity challenges, including banditry, kidnappings and the high cost of food stuff.

Pastor Buru said this is his 10th time of visiting many markets in Kaduna ahead of Ramadan in order to stress the need to cut down prices of goods to enable Muslims have access to them at affordable prices.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the markets visited include, Sheik Gumi Central Market, Railway market, and Barnawa market, among others. (NAN)
